IWEA Member Training Opportunity

Contact the IWEA Office to register for this Silica Compliance Asisstance training course which will provide an overview of OSHA's Silica Standard "Occupational Exposure to Respirable Crystalline Silica" standard (1926.1053).

This training will include 2 Parts:

Part 1

• Review of the OSHA Standard
• Elements of training workers with silica exposure
• Discussion of Table 1, and which Tasks most apply to IWEA Contractors work
• Discussion of how to address Tasks not on Table 1
• Discussion on the Exposure Control Plan
• Overview of the roles and responsibilities of the Competent Person

Part 2

Detailed discussion of the OSHA Standard (beyond that discussed in Part 1)
• Detailed discussion of Table 1, and which Tasks most apply to audience
• For Tasks not on Table 1, discussion on how to assess potential exposures and identify controls
• Detailed discussion on the Exposure Control Plan and how to effectively implement it
• Review and discussion on how to make “frequent and regular” inspections of job sites,
materials, and equipment
• How to conduct industrial hygiene monitoring for silica
• Recordkeeping
