National Management Affiliations
IWEA is affiliated with national organizations such as IMPACT, NMAPC, NSC and TAUC. These affiliations provide additional education, industry expertise and networking opportunities for our members.

Ironworker Management Progressive Action Cooperative Trust (IMPACT) is of North America is funded in equal parts by the contributions of its iron worker labor and management members who have elected to include IMPACT in their collective bargaining agreements.
Through IWEA’s affiliation with Iron Workers Local Union No. 3, we are a participant of the Great Lakes Regional Advisory Board (RAB). The RAB focuses on establishing forums to help support and foster regional labor management initiatives, evaluate new and existing IMPACT programs, and address the local issues that challenge ironworkers and their contractors daily. Each RAB is guided by an Executive Committee comprised of an equal number of ironworker and contractor representatives.

The National Maintenance Agreements Policy Committee, Inc. (NMAPC) negotiates and administers the National Maintenance Agreements, a series of collective bargaining agreements utilized by more than 1,800 industrial contractor companies who employ members of fourteen building trades international unions. The NMA program is administered under a system of tripartite governance and cooperation, with owners, contractors and building trades craft workers sharing equally in the responsibilities and rewards generated by the program.

The National Safety Council (NSC) is a mission-based organization focused on eliminating the leading cause of preventable death and injury. NSC’s efforts and thought leadership center on impacting safety through two strategic pillars – workplace and roadway – until the data tells otherwise.
NSC starts in the workplace, giving companies resources workers can use around risks they are facing. NSC helps employers create a culture of safety that will make people safer — from the workplace to anyplace. NSC embarked on its next chapter of safety leadership with the acquisition of ORC HSE Strategies in 2020. Employers benefit from both organizations’ world-class thought leadership, dynamic on-the-ground workplace safety consulting services, and membership in NSC Networks.

The Association of Union Constructors (TAUC) is the premier national trade association for the union construction industry, representing thousands of contractor companies that utilize union labor for their projects, as well as local contractor associations and vendors in the industrial maintenance and construction fields. TAUC’s mission is to act as an advocate for union contractors and enhance cooperation between the tripartite involved in the successful completion of construction projects: the union, the contractor, and the owner-client.
As a Local Employer Organization (LEO) member of TAUC, IWEA gains from the shared knowledge of other LEO members across the country – many of which represent ironworker contractors. This group meets at least three times annually to collaboratively push the industry forward as well as update each other on the latest trends, wage settlements, new initiatives, and programs that are being implemented in their respective regions of the country.
