National Safety Council has put tremendous resources behind their efforts to educate and provide resources to support their mission:
The National Safety Council eliminates preventable deaths at work, in homes and communities, and on the road through leadership, research, education and advocacy.
- In 2016, over 4600 lives were lost across Pennsylvania to drug overdoses, 85% of which involved an opioid.
- To put this into perspective, Pennsylvania now ranks 4th in the nation for opioid overdoses.
Accidental overdose is a common phrase, but NSC is working to change the language to preventable death - because these overdose fatalities are preventable!
