Silica Compliance Assistance Training

Silica Compliance Asisstance training course which will provide an overview of OSHA's Silica Standard "Occupational Exposure to Respirable Crystalline Silica" standard (1926.1053).

This training will include 2 Parts:

Part 1

• Review of the OSHA Standard
• Elements of training workers with silica exposure
• Discussion of Table 1, and which Tasks most apply to IWEA Contractors work
• Discussion of how to address Tasks not on Table 1
• Discussion on the Exposure Control Plan
• Overview of the roles and responsibilities of the Competent Person

Part 2

Detailed discussion of the OSHA Standard (beyond that discussed in Part 1)
• Detailed discussion of Table 1, and which Tasks most apply to audience
• For Tasks not on Table 1, discussion on how to assess potential exposures and identify controls
• Detailed discussion on the Exposure Control Plan and how to effectively implement it
• Review and discussion on how to make “frequent and regular” inspections of job sites,
materials, and equipment
• How to conduct industrial hygiene monitoring for silica
• Recordkeeping
